Fetus in Fetu in Lieu of a Sacrococcygeal Teratoma: A Case Illuminating the Utility of Serial Prenatal Sonographic Examinations in Diagnosis

We present a sacrococcygeal fetus in fetu diagnosed onroutine prenatal sonography imaging that was differen-tiable from a sacrococcygeal teratoma on sonography.A singular fetal magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)examination and serial prenatal sonographic examina-tions were performed.Fetal sonography at 18 weeks’ gestation showed asacrococcygeal mass measuring 4.7 3 3.3 cm. The masswas heterogeneous in appearance, with internal cysts,and was noted to have a singular feeding vessel oncolor angiography (Figure 1A). Initially, the findingswere thought to be consistent with a sacrococcygealteratoma.
