摘要

Third degree atrioventricular block in crab-eating fox was not related in the literature. Generally, it may occur secondary to several processes, including chest and cardiac trauma. This is a case report of third degree AV block in a crab-eating fox secondary to chest trauma. The crab-eating fox had cardiac troponin I levels of 8.2 ng/mL and CK-MB levels of 4.9 ng/mL. The severe myocardial trauma leads to respiratory and cardiac arrest and resulted in sudden death. This report suggest that chest trauma in crab-eating fox may promote an extensive damage in the cardiac electrical conduction system causing third degree atrioventricular block, alterations in the levels of cardiac troponin I and CK-MB in this specie may be an indicative of cardiac damage.
