The paperwork was signed and the funding in place;we tied the knot in December 2011 and there wasno turning back. The electronic medical record sys-tem (EMR) was loaded onto the Macs in each of the examrooms and we were ready to go. The next task was to plana division of labour: as long as we each understood whatthe other was capable of, the process was going to go well.Over the next six months, we engaged in a tug of war, andfinally started to understand each other's potential, sothat a mutually respectful dialogue could ensue
