The purpose of this paper is to propose avisualization framework for container supply chain bymodern information technologies. The concept of containersupply chain is studied. The approaches of modeling andvisualizing container supply chain are discussed. The modelof container based data acquisition is studied. A holisticframework of visualizing container supply chain is built.The paper is clearly only conceptual and theoretical. Muchempirical testing and case studies are yet to be done. Thepaper focuses on the container supply chain to cater for theincreasing importance of containerization. How we canmodel the container supply chain and utilize the real-timeinformation by container-based modern technologies isstudied to support the inspection, management and controlof the supply chain. With the development of domesticeconomy in China and international trade, it will benecessary to study this specific type of supply chain.
