The Realization of Students Ranking Assessment Management Information System

Ranking is one of the effective techniques tomeasure and evaluate an individual student’s performancerelative to other students. The ranks are calculated based ondata collected over several semesters. Ranks can providefeedback to students regarding their academic standing andmay be used for nominating students for scholarships andother awards. This paper describes the design andimplementation of computerized ranking assessment systemwhich is highly flexible and can easily be integrated withany other learning assessment system. The system designedis web based and can be used to generate ranking trendchart for each student. This chart will highlight thestudent’s performance over various semesters and willenable students to take remedial actions to improve theirperformances in future. Test results show that rankingassessment data can be easily generated and deliveredthrough web using the proposed design of the rankingassessment system.
