Research of the Precision Clock Synchronization Based on IEEE 1588

摘要

In distributed measurement and control system, itis the key to need a global time to determine the order ofevents happened in system, to achieve the effectiveness ofmonitoring and control data which is various informationtransmissions or operation state , therefore the clocksynchronization technology is required to synchronize theevery slave subsystem. IEEE 1588 precision clocksynchronization protocol can effectively solve the timesynchronization problem in distributed measurement andcontrol system. First, the basic principles of the IEEE 1588precision clock synchronization protocol and relatedprogram flow are introduced in this article. Second, twoalgorithms applied to clock synchronization including DScomparison algorithm and State decision algorithm wasfurther proposed and discussed. Meanwhile, the clocksynchronization with PTP (Precision Time Protocol)between two devices communication was implemented onthe platform of embedded Linux operating system. Finallytest showed the accuracy of synchronization was reachedless than dozens of microseconds.
