Roentgen in 1895 discovered X-rays and identified the clinicaluse of X-rays for imaging anatomical structures in humans (Agar,2012). Two types of photons released by x-rays are the bremsstrahlung X-ray photons (high energy) and characteristic X-rayphotons (low energy) radiation. Various machines utilizing X-rayshave been invented for different imaging studies and clinical procedures. These machines include the conventional X-ray machine,the computerized tomography machine, the fluoroscopy andmammography machine (Agar, 2012; Bushberg et al., 2002).
