Advanced Treatment of Coke Plant Wastewater by Electrosorption

In this experimental study, electrosorption is used for the advanced treatmentof Coke plant wastewater. Two-stage electrosorption module were operated at a flowrate of 170L/h, a voltage of 1.4 V, an influent conductivity of 3719 μS/cm and an adsorptiontime of 35min. Desalination rate was 77.22%; the removal rate of nitrate exceeded 70%;the removal rates of calcium, magnesium and sodium were 81.36%, 83.91% and 84.17%;and the removal rate of chloride ions exceeded 90%. The removal rate of chemical oxygendemand of the experimental device was 69.62%. Test results showed that electrosorptionhas a good removal efficiency for ions and organic matter. The requirements of the circulatingcooling water are fulfilled with the electrosorption method.
