Inthiswork,weseeknumericalsolutionof3-DMagnetotelluric(MT)usingedge-basedfiniteelementmethod.Thisapproachisavariantofstandardfiniteelementmethodandcommonlyreferredasvectorfinite-element(VFE)method.Nonphysicalsolutionsusuallyoccurredwhenthesolutionissoughtusingstandardfiniteelementwhichisanodebasedelement.Vectorfiniteelementattempttoovercomethosenonphysicalsolutionsbyusingtheedgesoftheelementasvectorbasis.TheproposedapproachonsolvingsecondorderMaxwelldifferentialequationof3-DMTisusingdirectsolverratherthaniterativemethod.Therefore,divergencecorrectiontoacceleratetherateofconvergenceforitsiterativesolutionisnolongerneeded.Theutilizationofdirectsolverhasbeenverifiedpreviouslyforcorrectnessbycomparingtheresultingsolutiontothosegivenbyanalyticalsolution,aswellasthesolutioncomefromtheothernumericalmethods,forearthlayeredmodel,2-DmodelsandCOMMEMI3D-2model.Inthiswork,furtherverificationresultedfromrecentcomparisonmodelofDublinTestModel1(DTM1)ispresented...
