The correlation between effective renal plasma flow (ERPF) and glomerular filtration rate (GFR) with renal scintigraphy 99mTc-DTPA study

TheprevalenceofchronicrenaldiseasesinIndonesiahasanincreasingannualtrend,becauseitisfrequentlyunrecognizedandoftenco-existswithotherdisease.GFRandERPFareparameterscurrentlyutilizedtoestimaterenalfunctionatroutinerenalscintigraphy99m-TcDTPAstudy.Thisstudyused99m-TcDTPAtomeasureGFRandERPF.ThepurposeofthisstudywastofindthecorrelationbetweenERPFandGFR,forERPFanalysiswithSchlegel'smethod,andGFRanalysiswithGate'smethod,aswellastofindcorrectionfactorbetweenbothvariables.AnalysisofrenalscintigraphyhasbeenperformedatDepartmentofNuclearMedicinePertaminaCenterHospitaltothirtypatientimagesacquiredfrom2014to2015whichwereanalyzedretrospectivelydata,usinggammacameradualheadwithcountingmethodfromrenalscintigraphy99m-TcDTPAstudy.Thecalculationwasexecutedbymeansofbothdisplayandmanualcalculation.Pearson'sstatisticalanalysisresultedonPositiveCorrelationforalldata,withERPFandGFR(display)showingStronglyPositiveCorrelation(r=0.82;p-value0.05).Standarddeviationwasfoundtobe27.58and107.64forGFRandERPF(display),respectively.Ourresultindicatedthattheuseof99mTc-DTPAmeasureERPFwasnotrecommended...
