Inthisworkwepresenttheexperimentalrealizationofelectromagneticallyinducedtransparency(EIT)inA-typeandmulti-V-typeconfigurationsinasampleofrubidiumatomsinsideavaporcellatroomtemperature.TypicalEITwindowsareclearlyvisibleintheDoppler-broadenedabsorptionsignaloftheweakprobebeam.Thecoherentopticalpumpandprobefieldsareproducedbytwotunablelow-cost,low-power,continuous-wave(cw),free-runningandsinglemodeoperateddiodelasersystems,temperaturestabilizedandcurrentcontrolled,tunedtotheD2lineofrubidiumatomsat780.2nmwavelength.Thecontinuumwaveandsinglemodeoperationofourlasersystemsareconfirmedbydirectandsaturatedabsorptionspectroscopytechniques.Amongotherapplications,thesesimpleexperimentscanbeusedasalow-costundergraduatelaboratoryinatomicphysics,laserphysics,coherentlight-atominteraction,andhighresolutionatomicspectroscopy...
