ThisstudywillexaminetheuseofFe3O4/CuO/ZnOnanocompositesthathavebeenmodifiedbyNanographenePlatelets(NGP)asanadsorbenttodegradeorganicdyewasteMethyleneBlue(MB).Thenanocompositesweresynthesizedusingthesol-gelmethodthencombinedwiththreevariatonsofNGPweightpercentsbysimplehydrothermalmethod.TheFe3O4/CuO/ZnO/NGPcompositeswerecharacterizedusingtheX-RayDiffraction(XRD)spectroscopy,FourierTransformInfrared(FTIR),EnergyDispersiveX-Ray(EDX),ThermogravimetricAnalysis(TGA)andVibratingSampleMagnetometer(VSM).Thecompositesexhibitferromagneticbehaviour.ThepresenceofhexagonalwurtziteofZnO,monoclinicofCuOandcubicspinelofFe3O4werefoundinthecomposites.Thegraphitic-likestructurerepresentsthepresenceoftheNGPinthecomposites.However,theadditionofNGPweightpercentreducesthethermalstabilityofthecomposites.TheadsorptioncapabilityofthecompositesareanalyzedbyobservingthedegradationoforganicdyeMethyleneBlue(MB)underdarkcondition.TheNGPadditionof15wt%showthebestresultofthecompositestodegradeMethyleneBlueinalkalinecondition.AdsorptionmechanismofthecompositeswithNGPadditiontendtofollowthemodelLangmuiradsorptionkineticmodels...
