Analysis of ionospheric irregularities during total solar eclipse 2016 based on GNSS observation

AtotalsolareclipseoccurredoverIndonesiainthemorninghourson9March2016.Ionisationsintheionospherewhichisassociatedwiththesolarradiationduringthetotaleclipseprovidedagoodopportunitytostudytheionosphericirregularities.Usingglobalnavigationsatellitesystem(GNSS)datatakenfromdual-frequencyreceiversinManado,weinvestigatedandanalysedthetotalelectroncontent(TEC)perturbationswithatimeresolutionof60storevealionosphericirregularitiesduringtotaleclipse.ResultshowedthatTECconditionsbasedonIPPweredecreasedduringsolareclipseonMarch9,comparingwiththeneighbourday.Themaximumpercentagedeviation(DTEC)fromtheaveragevalueduringeclipseperiod,00:00-02:40UTreach-41.5%.ThedurationofmaximumdecrementinTECoccurswerearound2-30minutesafterthemaximumobscuration...
