The study by Hallegraeff et al (2012) was of unusualinterest to us, having nicely supported our uncontrolledobservation that nocturnal cramps could often be preventedby prophylactic calf stretching (Daniell 1979). Differencesbetween our stretching regimen and that which they usedincluded the number of muscle groups stretched, the positionin which each stretch was performed, and the frequency andduration of each repetition.
