摘要

Infrared thermography is a significant andwidely accepted non-destructive method in order tomonitor the thermal behavior of many industrialprocesses. By measuring the temperature of electricalmotors with accuracy and without contact is possible toprotect them and to ensure their maximum life time. Inthis article, the influence of the capacitor capacitancein the thermal dissipation of a small induction singlephase motor under different operation scenarios ischecked. The results show that thermography is apowerful tool in order to characterize the thermalbehavior of an electric motor.
