摘要

Heat is often an early symptom ofequipment damage or malfunction, making it a keyperformance parameter monitored in predictivemaintenance. Infrared thermography is used in orderto perform preventive maintenance inspections inmany industrial applications. In electrical networks isthe most reliable nondestructive method to preventmalfunctions and catastrophic failures. The CentralGreece Regional Department of the Greek distributionnetwork operator (HEDNO S.A.) is used as case studyto presents all the parameters which influence theresults obtained by a thermal camera. For explanationof these parameters, real thermal images, suitableselected, are presented while observations andinterpretations based on the experience of the HEDNOthermographers are given as well.
