Typhoid fever is one of the major lifethreatening diseases, accounting for the death ofmillions of people every year apart fromcontributing to economic backwardness, mostly inAfrica. Prompt and accurate diagnosis is a majorkey in the medical field, the large number ofdeaths associated with typhoid fever is as a result ofmany factors which include: poor diagnosis, selfmedication,shortage of medical experts andinsufficient health institutions. These prompted forthe development of a typhoid diagnosis system thatcan be used by anyone of average intelligence as thiswill assist in quick diagnosis of the disease despiteshortage of health institutions and medical experts.A fuzzy logic technique was used on the labeled set oftyphoid fever conditional variables to generateexplainable rules for the diagnosis of typhoid fever.The labeled database was divided into five differentlevels of severity of typhoid fever and theclassification accuracies on both the training setand testing set are 95% and 96% respectively.Implementation was carried out using Matlab as frontend and MySQL as database.
