Pocket creation in the prepectoral subfascial position for the implantation of a cardiac implantable electrical device

Pockets created in the prepectoral subcutaneous space in electrophysiology laboratories for the implantation of a cardiac implantable electrical device (CIED) have several advantages; however, lean or small subjects are thought to cause pocket erosion. To minimize such traumatic pocket complications, prepectoral subfascial implantation has been employed since the early 1990s. In this paper, we introduce a method for prepectoral subfascial pocket creation.
