WehaveconstructedamolecularlinkagemapofLentil(LensculinarisL.)inaRILpopulation(developedfromtheparentsPrecozxWA8949041)of94plantswith166markers.Theresultinglinkagemapconsistsof11(varyingbetween50.9–436.5cM)linkagegroupscovering1396.3cMwithanaveragemapdistancebetweenframeworkmarkersof8.4cM.MostoftheRAPDandISSRmarkerswereevenlydistributedacrossthegenome.Byusing40primercombinations,wewereabletogenerate391AFLPmarkersintheRILpopulation.ThemajorityoftheAFLPmarkersclusteredinlinkagegroup2.Inthesegregationdistortionanalysis,185markersdeviatedfromMendeliansegregation.Ofthe185markerswithskewedsegregation,108markerswereunlinkedandtherestofthedistortedmarkersmappedtolinkagegroups.LG2containedthemostdistortedmarkeramongthelinkagegroups.
