Studies on Some New Triazolothiadiazoles Derivatives Incorporating Benzofuran Moiety

摘要

Novel heterocyclic compounds i.e. substituted-2-(3-(3-hydroxybenzofuran-2-yl)-[1,2,4]triazolo[3,4-b][1,3,4] thiadiazol-6-yl)benzoic acid (5a-f) have been synthesized by reaction of 2-(4-amino-5-mercapto-4H-1,2,4-triazol-3- yl)benzofuran-3-ol (3) with different substituted benzoic acid in presence of POCl3. The structures of the newly synthesized heterocyclic compounds have characterized by IR, 1H-NMR, Mass spectroscopy and elemental analysis. The synthesized compounds were further evaluated for their antimicrobial activities against different microbial strains.
