Objective: To show the experience of ileal anastomosis at less than three centimetres of the ileocecal valve. Method: This is a prospective study of (14) patients with penetrating peritoneal ileon injuries between January 1995 and December 2008. Ambient: Surgical facilities of the "Hospital Vargas de Caracas". Results: Ileal anastomoses made at less than 3 centimeters of the ileocecal valve does not produce anastomotic dehiscence. Conclusions: Anastomosis at less than three centimetres of the ileocecal valve do not increase morbidity or mortality in the series studied.
