Laparoscopic suture and tie aided by robot: a comparative study of the learning curve Objective: To compare the suturing and knot tying learning curve in conventional laparoscopic versus robot assisted laparoscopic surgery. Method: the performance of five individuals in conventional and robot assisted laparoscopic suturing and tying, was evaluated using GOALS score and the time required to finish the task. Results: There were statistically significant differences in relation to time and score on the scale of GOALS in robot-assisted laparoscopy over conventional laparoscopy. Conclusion: The practices of complex laparoscopic tasks with robotic assistance improve the performance and shorten the learning curve in subjects without previous experience in advanced laparoscopy.
