摘要

A benzoxazole derivative, (E)-2-(6-methylbenzoxazol-2-yl)-3-phenylacrylonitrile (abbreviated MBPA), with the formula C17H12N2O was obtained by the Knovenegel reaction. This compound crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P21/c with the following cell parameters: a = 11.0508(8)Å; b = 12.0159(10)Å; c = 10.0074(9)Å; β = 94.761(5)°; V = 1324.25(19)Å3; Z = 2; R1 = 0.052 and wR2 = 0.142 for 2755 observed reflexions. The crystal structure of the synthesized compound was built by organic layers parallel to the [101] direction.
