The U.S. Food and Drug Administration, in collab-oration with other health organizations, launchedanewresearchprogramtostudythesafetyofmed-ications taken during pregnancy. Called the Med-ication Exposure in Pregnancy Risk Evaluation Pro-gram (MEPREP), the program will link health careinformationfrom11participatingsitesforabout1million births over the past seven years in whichmany of the mothers used medication duringtheir pregnancies.
