Dr. Lucas was the recipient of theJimmy and Rosalynn Carter Humanitarian Award for his lifelong commitment to global publichealth in the area of neglected tropical diseases. This award recognizes outstanding humanitarianefforts and achievements that have improved the health of humankind. The John P. UtzLeadership Award was presented to Dr. Schaffner. This award is presented to individuals whohave worked tirelessly in a leadership capacity on behalf of NFID.
