Penicillamine and Schizophrenia—A Clinical Trial

摘要

A double-blind cross-over trial of D-penicillamine was conducted in ten schizophrenic patients. Four chronic patients showed a marginal and transient improvement, and one acute patient showed a marked improvement on the first but not on the second exhibition of the drug. It was concluded that these results might have some theoretical interest but that penicillamine was not likely to prove of clinical use in schizophrenia.
