Computing technologies are readily available to serve the need of mankind for innovative purposes. Over the years’ variouscontrol systems have been designed to prevent access to unauthorized user. The purpose of this research is to Design anautomatic door opening/closing system to assist the physically challenged and as well as ease human labour in opening andclosing door, especially when it has to do with the garage. With this system there will be no need of having to come down andopen/closing the door before and after parking your car. This paper presents a methodology to rationalize the complexity ofthe software programs to interface with hardware devices, interact and to calculate the availability, functionality to serve theend user. This system helps to save time and provides convenience to the user, the openers also has an auto close feature,so the user does not need to close it after you enter the room. The system was first of all designed on paper, simulated usingproteus interfaced with some assembly language program in MIDE. This was tasted with an animated door in simulation andit was proved to be functional.
