The Influence of the Pedo – Genetical Cover upon the Production Capacity of the Forestry Stations from the Cusma Site

The paper emphasizes the ways in which the volume growth of the three studied species, fir, spruce, and beech, respectively, that predominate in the forests from the Cusma Site, Bistri?a – N?s?ud, are influenced by the soil type. The measurements were performed in 2010 and 2012 by three soil types spread within Cusma Site: districambosoil, eutricambosoil, and prepodzol soil. The values of the volume growth in fir are 4.20 - 6.30 (m3/year/ha), the lowest level being recorded by the lithic sub-type of the districambosoil. The values of the volume growth in spruce and beech are between 5.10 - 8.85 (m3/year/ha) and 3.40 - 7.35 (m3/year/ha), the lowest level being recorded by the lithic sub-types of the prepodzol soil. If we compare the volume growth between above mentioned species, all three soil types, we find that the biggest growth was recorded in spruce, followed by the beech, and fir. If we report our recordings to the thickness of the soil profile, we find that all three species recorded the biggest growth on typical districambosoil with a profile thickness of 120 cm.
