The synergistic effect of sage and jojoba oil extract on the corrosion inhibition of low carbon steel was evaluated with potentiodynamic polarization resistance technique, weight loss method and open circuit potential measurement. Experimental data confirmed effect inhibition performance of the admixed compound with average value above 80%. The presence of the compound in the acid solution shifts the corrosion potential values (with respect to time) to the positive direction due to surface coverage of the metal surface. The compound displays mixed inhibition behavior and the mechanism of inhibition was determined to be through chemisorption adsorption mechanism according to Langmuir, Frumkin and Freundlich isotherm models. Optical images of inhibited mild steel surface significantly contrast the corroded non-inhibited steel.
