O INDIGENISMO NA ERA DA INFORMA??O

摘要

The aim of this paper is to present the role of indigenous people, mainly a government policy which sought the assimilation and control of indigenous peoples in society, but now in relation to the policies of information, that is, in the recuperation, organization, creation and diffusion the information of the aboriginal peoples. The methodology used was a review of literature on indigenous people, including principal issues from the América Indígena magazine, icon indigenism Latin America seeking to identify the interest for the introduction of a system inter-American indigenous information, trying to characterize its current direction (indigenism dialogue), its concern with issues such as control, organization and dissemination of information on indigenous people. Some conclusions: the indigenism did not assume since start the recovery, rescued and promotion of the information created for the aboriginals; looked the imposition of a eurocentrica vision, trying to remove the tears away. However the role of the scientific indigenism was important for the study of the produced here. Only after the emergence of indigenous movements and the concern for segments of the professional field of Information Science, diverse services/products of information for aboriginals are a reality in diverse countries of the world.
