Novel star polymers based on the water-solubleN-(2-hydroxypropyl)methacrylamide (HPMA) copolymer andcyclodextrin were synthesized and the physico-chemical behaviorof these precursors was studied. Semitelechelic HPMAcopolymers were grafted onto the cyclodextrin core, thus formingstar-like structure. Both prepared systems were designed aspossible polymer carriers for the controlled release of cytostaticdrugs, which after the drug release and degradation will beeliminated from the organism. Two synthesis approaches wereused to obtain similar polymer carriers with different degradationrates. All the polymers were prepared by reversible additionfragmentationchain-transfer polymerization, which guaranteeslow dispersity of the prepared systems.
