Inthispaperastudyofanewlydevelopedtwo-dimensionopticalcodedivisionmultipleaccess(2D-OCDMA)codetransmissionnamedTimeHoppingOddDoubleWeight(THODW)usingplasticopticalfiber(POF)isproposed.TheuniquepropertiesofPOFhaveattractedattentionforitspotentialtobeusedintransmittingsignalswithinhomesorbuildings.nbsp;TheconvenienceofusingPOFwithOCDMAsystemsisitscompatibilitywithOCDMAcodesusedinconstructingmulti-usertransmissionsystems,orcontrolsystemswithdifferentcommands.POFcanbeusedasareplacementforcopperwiresandconventionalopticalsystemscurrentlyusedforhigh-speeddatatransmissionwithinthepremisesofahouseorbuilding.SystemimplementationusesTHODW,whichemphasizestheuniquepropertiesoflowbandwidthconsumption,zerocrosscorrelation,andsimpleencoder/decoderdesignasanadvantageforusingtheOCDMAsysteminPOFfibers.ThesystemusedBERasavalidationfactor,andtwocodeweightsareusedinthestudyunderdifferenttransmissionrates.ResultsshowedthatusingPOFforindoorOCDMAtransmissionisvalid,efficientandreachesupto200meterswithaBERof10-9.
