Physical oceanography in False Bay: A review

摘要

As False Bay is the largest bay in Southern Africa bordering on an important metropolitan area it has to meet recreational, industrial, fishing and other needs. This review deals briefly with the initial survey of the bay and then focusses on more recent physical oceanographic research. To fill gaps in the present-day knowledge of the Bay, a conceptual measuring programme is suggested.
