Parametric study on local impact damage of concrete members

摘要

To predict the local damage ofa concrete target subjected to impact load, various empirical and theoreticalequations were proposed because the local failure mechanism of concrete oncollision is complicated. In the present study, using an empirical model and anenergy based model, a parametric study was performed to investigate the effectsof design parameters on the penetration depth. All design parameters includingconcrete strength, rebar ratio, concrete density, aggregate size, steel fibervolume ratio, impact velocity, projectile mass, projectile diameter, andconcrete target configuration were considered. The results showed that theenergy based model is useful to predict the penetration depth of the localimpact-damaged concrete target under various design conditions.
