The physic nut ( Jatropha curcas L.) is a promising oilseeds species for fuel purposes and is attracting great interest from researchers and farmers who aim to produce biodiesel. This is due to the long production cycle and quality of oil produced by physic nut, among other factors. The commercial crop of physic nut in Brazil has been little studied, but the country possesses many qualities to lead the physic nut production, especially by incorporation of areas without competing with food production. However, the research results with the culture in Brazil are still incipient and preliminary, especially with regard to the fertilizer recommendation and nutritional demands. Based on the fact that any information related to this subject is very useful to assisting future researches, this review show an information compiled dealing nutrition and NPK fertilization for physic nut crop in Brazil.
