Fibrous dysplasia (FD) is a common benign skeletal lesion thatmay involve one bone (monostotic) or multiple bones (polyostotic)and occurs throughout the skeleton with a predilectionfor the long bones, ribs and craniofacial bones. MonostoticFD accounts for 70 to 80% of FDs and 10 to 25% of the casesoccur in craniofacial region, and these are common in 20 to 30years age group. Here, we report a case of monostotic FD ofmaxilla which was treated surgically by surgical recontouring.
