Laser Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (LIBS) is a technique that allows a straightforward andfast analysis of materials. Despite of its multiple advantages, including analysis of solids, liquidsor gases, without sample preparation under atmospheric conditions, LIBS suffers severaldrawbacks such as relatively poor sensitivity and lack of reproducibility in comparison withothers methods. In an effort to improve its analytical performance, two different double pulseapproaches, a collinear femtosecond and an orthogonal nanosecond schemes, have been tested inthe case of metallic samples.
