Peste des petits ruminants (PPR) is one of the most serious and contagious diseases of domestic sheep and goats. It causes signi?cant losses in herds and its geographical spread is growing all the time. PPR occurs in most countries of tropical Africa, the Middle East, and South and Central Asia. It has recently arrived in North Africa and continues to expand in southern Africa.
