Paolo Tizzani Veterinary epidemiologist Dr Paolo Tizzani joined the World Animal Health Information and Analysis Department on 1 March 2015. Dr Tizzani previously worked for Turin University in the Department of Veterinary Sciences, beginning his career there in 2001. He graduated with a PhD in Animal Production in 2007, specialising in the ecology and diseases of lagomorphs, and in 2012 took up a position as a ?xed-term researcher in the Department of Parasitic Disease, also at Turin University. Over the past few years, Dr Tizzani has focused particularly on the use of geographic information systems (GIS) in veterinary epidemiology. Since 2010, Dr Tizzani has worked on various EU-funded projects to control diseases in wildlife. His tasks at the OIE will include verifying animal health information received from Member Countries, conducting epidemiological and statistical analyses using WAHIS data, and preparing and editing documents on the global animal health situation.
