A new series of tin- and organotin(IV) complexes of general formula Sn(OPri )2(hbal) (1), Sn(OPri )2(Hhbal)2 (2), Bu3Sn(Hhbal) (3), Ph3Sn(Hhbal) (4), (Ph3Sn)2(hbal) (5) were synthesized by the reacting of tin- and triorganotin(IV) chloride with the ligand, with the aid of sodium iso-propoxide in appropriate stiochiometric ratios (1:1, 1:2 and 2:1). These complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, IR, 1H nuclear magnetic resonance. On the basis of spectral evidence it has been found, the complex 1, 3, 4 and 5 incorporated with a pentacoordinated derivative and carboxylate oxygen atom coordinated to tin in bidentate manner.
