Incidência de Gardnerella vaginalis?nas Amostras de Secre??o Vaginal em Mulheres Atendidas pelo Laboratório Municipal de Fraiburgo

A vagina possui um variado número de bactérias que vivem em harmonia com os Lactobacillus spp. Quando ocorre um desequilíbrio na flora, há um crescimento exagerado de bactérias em especial Gardnerella vaginalis, causando a vaginose bacteriana. Este trabalho tem por objetivo verificar a incidência de G. vaginalis nas amostras de secre??o vaginal em mulheres atendidas pelo Laboratório Municipal de Fraiburgo. O estudo foi realizado no referido laboratório. Os dados foram coletados através dos laudos dos exames de secre??o vaginal. Foram avaliados os dados referentes aos exames realizados em mulheres da faixa etária de 18 a 55 anos no período de 1 ano, totalizando 451 exames realizados neste período. Os resultados mostram que 54 exames foram positivos para G. vaginalis, 32 casos de Candida spp., 13 casos de Trichomonas spp. e 352 exames apresentaram-se normais. Em outras palavras 78% dos exames realizados apresentam-se normais e 22% dos exames apresentam resultado positivo para vulvovaginites. Foi observado ainda que a maior incidência de Gardnerella spp. esteja associada à faixa etária de 20 a 30 anos, demonstrando assim que esta infec??o acomete principalmente mulheres em idade reprodutiva. Como sendo um dos principais agentes causadores de infec??es em mulheres e pela carência de estudos epidemiológicos sobre estes agentes,é de fundamental importancia um estudo nessa área, este será de grande valia n?o só para as usuárias do SUS, como para a equipe de saúde, como a??o educativa para preven??o, controle e a solu??o para este problema que é a principal queixa entre as mulheres. ABSTRACT Incidence of Gardnerella vaginalis in Samples of Vaginal Secretion in Women Attending the Municipal Laboratory at Fraiburgo (SC, Brazil) The vagina has a number of different bacteria that live in harmony with Lactobacillus spp. When an imbalance occurs in this flora, there is an overgrowth of bacteria, in particular Gardnerella vaginalis, causing bacterial vaginosis. The aim of this study was to determine the incidence of Gardnerella vaginalisin samples of vaginal secretion in women attending the Municipal Laboratory at Fraiburgo. The study was conducted in that laboratory. Data were collected through the reports of examinations of vaginal discharge. These examinations were performed on women aged 18 to 55 years over a period of one year, totaling 451 tests overall. The results show that 54 cases were positive for Gardenerella vaginalis, 32 for Candida spp., 13 for Trichomonas spp. and 352 examinations were normal; hence, 78% of the exams were normal and 22% positive for vulvovaginitis. It was also observed that the highest incidence of Gardnerella spp was associated with an age range from 20 to 30 years, showing that this infection primarily affects women of reproductive age. As this is one of the main causative agents of infections in women and given the lack of epidemiological studies on these bacteria, a study of this type is vitally important and will be of great value not only for the users of the public health system and for the health team, but also as an educational activity for the prevention, control and solution of this problem, which is the main complaint among women.
