Active Ultrafiltration (AUF) membrane was prepared from PVDF/NMP/PVP/SDS viaphase inversion technique. Based on separation analysis, the performance of fabricatedPVDF membranes was examined in terms of pure water permeation (PWP), flux andproteins rejection. The morphological structures and molecular orientation of thesemembranes were characterized by SEM and FTIR, respectively. Experimental datashowed that, the PWP was increased ranging from 455.82 to 577.37 Lm-2h-1. At 3 wt%of PVP content, the AUF membranes showed the highest BSA permeation flux andprotein rejection up to 151.72 Lm-2h-1 and 91 %, respectively. Moreover, membranescharacterization demonstrated that the addition of PVP and SDS were also found toalter the morphologies and molecular orientation of the enhanced AUF-PVDFmembranes.
