Effect of dietary inclusion of Morera (Morus alba) or Moringa (Moringa oleifera) meal on behavior traits, carcass and meat quality from pigs

Toevaluatetheeffectoftheinclusionof20%flourmulberryor#8220;moringa#8221;inthedietongrowthtrial,carcasscompositionandmeatqualityanexperimentwasconductedusing135crossbredpigs:barrowsandgilts,housedincollective.Animalsweredistributedatrandomintothreetreatment(45pigspertreatment)andthreereplicates(15pigsperreplicate).Pigsreceivedrestrictedfoodtwiceadayandtheywerefattenedfrom40to85kg.Thedietdidnotaffectthedailygainandconversionbutfeedintakewashigheronexperimentaltreatments.Thepigsfedwithmulberryandmoringashowedalowerbackfatthicknessandhamweightbutdidnotaffectthemeatquality.Theresultssuggestthatundertheconditionofthisstudyitispossibletoincludea20%flourormulberryandmoringainpig#8217;sdietbecausedoesnothaveasignificativeeffectofpig#8217;sgrowth,carcasscompositionandmeatquality
