An8-weekfeedingexperimentwasconductedtoevaluatethegrowthperformance,feedefficiency,digestibility,carcasscompositionand,liverandintestinehistologyofjuvenileNileTilapia(3.18±0.02g)fedonacontroldietandfourexperimentaldiets(35%CP).Theexperimentaimedtoassesstheutilizationoflocalmacrophytes;namelyfermentedduckweedsat15%(DW15)and25%(DW25)aswellasfermentedwaterfernat15%(WF15)and25%(WF25).Thegrowthperformancecomprisingofweightgain(WG),specificgrowthratio(SGR)andproteinefficiencyratio(PER)wasassessedintriplicatesandnosignificantdifferencesbetweendietswereobserved.Feedconversionratio(FCR)andashcontentofthecarcassweresimilarinallthetreatmentsexceptforWF25wheresignificantlyhigherFCRandashcontentwererecordedcomparedtothecontroldiet.However,lipidandproteincontentofthecarcasswascomparablebetweendiets.Resultsshowedthattheinclusionoffermentedduckweedsupto25%andfermentedwaterfernupto15%indietsforNileTilapiawasfeasiblewithoutanynegativeeffectcomparedtothecontrolgroup.
