Eightlocalquot;Yellowquot;cattle(range78to108kg)nbsp;wereallocatedaccordingtoliveweighttotwogroupseachoffouranimals.Theywerefedabasaldietofadlibitumensiledcassavapulpenrichedwithureaattherateof3%ofthecassavapulpdrymatter(DM).Theexperimentwasdoneinthedryseason(April-May2015).FreshBrewer#8217;sgrainswereusedasasourceofquot;bypassquot;protein.Ricestrawwasgivenasasourceof#8220;roughage#8221;.nbsp;Asulphur-richmineralmixturewasprovidedadlibitum.Theureawasdissolvedinwaterandsprayedonthecassavapulp.Brewers#8217;grainsandricestrawwereofferedseparately.The0.66kg/dayaveragegrowthratesoverthe4monthsoffattening,withaDMfeedconversionof6.67,confirmedthatensiledcassavapulpcouldbethebasisofasuccessfuldietfortheintensivefatteningoflocalquot;Yellowquot;cattleinLaoPDR.
