Theobjectiveofourworkwastostudy,inthelocalrabbitdoes,theprolificacyanditsprincipalbiologicalcomponentsinthecourseofthetwofirstparities.Inall,20doesoflocalpopulationweredividedintotwogroups(10nulliparousand10multiparous).Aftermating,femaleswerebeenscarifiedat28daysofpregnancytomeasuretheprolificacy,ovulationrate,earlyandlatemortality.Ourresultsshowthatthenumberofimplantedembryoswas5.50±1.84inthenulliparousand8.70±1,39intheprimiparousdoes,significantdifferenceof58%(p0.05)forprimiparous.Theovulationratewashigherinprimiparousdoescomparedtothenulliparous(9.9±1,7vs7±1.6,p0,05).Bycons,thenumberofpreovulatoryfollicleswasnotstatisticallydifferentbetweenthetwogroupsoffemales,whateverthemethodofmeasurement(macroscopicandmicroscopicmethods).nbsp;Earlymortalitywas22%inthenulliparousdoesagainst10%intheprimiparousdoes(differencenotsignificantbetweenthetwocategoriesoffemales).Moreover,thelatemortalityisquitecomparablebetweenthetwogroupsoffemales.Inconclusion,thedataofthisstudyshowthatthemostcomponentsofprolificacyinrabbitslocallyareconsideredinsufficientcomparedwithforeignbreedsandstrains.
