All employees have at least a small percentage of their responsibilities listed as 'Other Duties as Assigned' or a similar open ended phrase. However, leaders engage in more of this type of activity. While 'Other Duties as Assigned' can result in the opportunity to develop leadership skills, repeated engagement on these extracurricular endeavors can pose professional pitfalls and hazards.
