TheaimofthisstudywastoevaluatetheeffectofpotassiumnitrateorureaonmethaneproductionfromPapermulberryandMuntingiafoliagesinaninvitroincubationsystemwithmolassesastheenergysource.Theincubationwasfor24hwithmeasurementsoftotalgasandpercentmethaneatintervalsof6,12,18and24hoursanddeterminationofresidualunfermentedsubstrateattheendofeachinterval.Gasproduction,percentmethaneinthegasandmethaneproducedperunitDMsolubilized,ateachincubationinterval,werehigherwithureathanwithpotassiumnitrateasNPNsource.nbsp;ThefermentabilityofthesubstratewashigherforPapermulberrythanforMuntingiaastheforagesourcebuttherewerenodifferencesbetweenthetwofoliagesinmethaneproducedperunitsubstrateDMsolubilised.nbsp;
