Aprojectofstudywasplannedtoinvestigatethereproductivetraitsofewesandramsasaffectedbyadverseconditions,underthesub-tropicalwinterandsummerconditionsofEgypt.nbsp;TheestimatedTHI(Temperature-HumidityIndex)valuesindicatedabsenceofnbsp;heatstressduringwinterandexposureoftheramstoverysevereheatstressduringsummer.Exposuretoheatstress(i.e.increaseinperceptionofwarmthduringthehotclimate)conditionswasaccompaniedwithsignificantnbsp;(P0.01or0.05)increaseinrectal,skinandscrotal-skintemperatures,reactiontime,deadspermatozoa,spermabnormality,acrosomaldamage,scrotallengthandplasmacreatinineandcortisollevels,andsignificant(P0.01or0.05)decreasenbsp;inspermmotility,spermcellconcentration,scrotalcircumference,testeslength,serumalbumin,alkalinephosphatase,lactatedehydogenase,nbsp;SGOTandT3hormonelevels.Meanwhile,dietarysupplementationofthesameramswithseleniumwasaccompaniedwithsignificant(P0.01or0.05)decreaseinrectaltemperature,reactiontime,semenpH,percentagesofdeadspermatozoa,spermabnormalitiesandacrosomaldamageandserumcreatinine,andsignificant(P0.01or0.05)increaseinspermmotility,sperm-cellconcentration,scrotalcircumference,scrotallengthandtesteslength.Theinteractionsofseasonoftheyearwithseleniumtreatmentweresignificant(P0.01or0.05)onspermabnormalities,scrotalcircumference,scrotallength,testeslengthandserumnbsp;SGOT(SerumGlutamoOxaloacetateTransferase)andSGPT(SerumGlutamoPyruvateTransferase)levels.nbsp;Seleniumsupplementationduringwintershowedthehighest(P0.05)valuesinscrotalcircumferenceandtesteslength,andthelowestnbsp;(P0.05)valuesinspermabnormalityandserumSGPT.Thehighestnbsp;(P0.05)spermabnormalityandserumSGOTandthelowestscrotallengthandtesteslengthwereshownwithoutsupplementationduringsummer.
