Drymatterpercentageestimationoffeedsinproductionsystemsallowsabettergrasslandsadministrationasfeedforcattle.Severalmethodologiesareavailableforthedeterminationofthisparameter,neverthelesstheavailabilityoftheequipmentandthetimeneededtoobtaintheresultsconstitutesthedifferencebetweenthem.Thetargetofthisinvestigationwastovalidatealternativemethodsofdryingnbsp;(infraredrays,microwave)comparedtothetraditionalone(ovenwithforcedventilation)forwhichthreeforageswereused(Cynodonplectostachyus,Panicummaximum,Trichantheragigantea),thatwererandomlydistributedbetweenthetreatments(dryingmethods).ForCynodonplectostachyus,thethreetreatmentspresentedstatisticalsignificantdifference(p0.05),whichdidnothappenwithPanicummaximumandTrichantheragigantea,wherethepercentageofdrymatterdidnotpresentstatisticaldifference(p0.05)betweenthemethodofthemicrowaveandtheinfraredone,butitwasforbothofthemwiththetraditionalmethod.Themethodsofmostprecisionwerethetraditionaloneandthemicrowaveone,whichturnedouttobeinterchangeableinaccordancewithBland-Altmanmethodology.Thedryingbyinfraredgavevariableresultsanddidnotturnouttobeinterchangeablewiththetraditionalone,thereforeitisnotrecommendedfordrymatterpercentageestimationingreenmaterialswithhighhumiditycontent.
